due Tuesday, Nov 24, at the beginning of class.

Directions:

  • Electronic copy (to victor.leuci@westminster-mo.edu): the subject header can be whatever, but the name of your attached file should be:
  • F09-227A-E3-Last Name, First Name (e.g. F09-227A-E3-Doe, John) or
  • F09-227B-E3-Last Name, First Name (e.g. F09-227B-E3-Doe, Joan)
  • Paper copy: bring to class or to my office
  • Length: see below
  • Citing reminders:
  • you must cite your sources of information (facts, theories, etc).
  • for print sources you must include specific page numbers, or the numbers in brackets for Herodotus or Thucydides
  • e.g. (Kebric, 55) or (Theognis, Kebric, 55) when Kebric is quoting Theognis
  • e.g. (Hdt. 1.1) for Herodotus, or (Thuc. 1.1) for Thucydides
  • for web sources you must include  
  • the author (if one) or part of the title (if no author) and
  • a paragraph number or section heading if the web page is more than a few paragraphs long
  • e.g. (Usain Bolt) if short; (Usain Bolt, para 8) or (Usain Bolt, World Records) if longer
  • Works Cited "page" reminders:
  • either APA, MLA, or Chicago manual of style (see pdfs in ANGEL for guidelines)
  • only include entries for what you used in your paper
  • make sure the works cited "page" is in the same font as your main text
  • make sure that you use hanging indents for the entries
  • put at the end of your paper; not on a separate page, if possible
