Write
on
one of the topics
below:
1. Apply Levi-Strauss'structuralism theory
to the myth of Gilgamesh, restricting your discussion to the version of
the myth given in Powell's text or the additions from class. If you use
the additions from class, then cite class notes thus: (Leuci, lecture)--see
pdf
on
MLA7 for how to include lectures in the bibliography. Only use class notes for
material not in
Powell's text.
2. Apply Levi-Strauss' structuralism theory to Heracles' parent's
myths, his birth and early life prior to starting the twelve labors,
restricting your discussion to the version of the myth given in
Powell's text.
3. Excluding the section detailing the 12 labors of Heracles, how does
the material in Powell's chapter 14 modify or confirm what we have
previously learned about male/female relationships? Make sure your
answer is reflective of the various examples in pp 370-380 and 395-404,
not just the first few examples or the last few examples.
