Directions:
- electronic copy: e-mail me at victor.leuci@westminster-mo.edu; the name of your
attached file should be:
- F12-215-P5-Last Name, First Name (e.g. F12-215-P5-Leuci, Victor)
- paper copy: bring to class
- length: 600-1000ish
- In-text Citations
- you must have in-text citations for your sources of information (facts, theories, parts of myths, etc.)
- every main body paragraph should have in-text citations (you want at least 2 good examples with citations per paragraph) — the exception is for movies where you still need good concrete examples, but you don't have to have in-text citations provided that you have mentioned what the name of the movie is.
- for the movie make sure you have a works cited entry and that it is correct
- Citing Powell's general information: Give the author and page number, e.g. (Powell, 70)
- Citing class notes: Give the author (also give part of a title in quote marks if citing from more than one class period), e.g. (Leuci)
- Works Cited "Page" reminders:
- to save paper, don't put on a separate page
- in the same font as your main text
- use hanging indents
- use MLA 7th edition
- see syllabus for how the entries for our textbooks should look.
- for the movie, the entry should follow the same pattern as for the movie Hercules (see directions for the take-home for Exam 3).
- for class notes, see the pdf in Moodle for the MLA 7th edition formatting for this entry.
- writing intensive:
- Don't forget to turn in the draft copy with my or the Writing labs' comments on it for it to count towards your revised paper total (and don't forget to make the revisions!)
- print this out and bring this to your writing lab conference and have the tutor sign here: ______________________________________
